Queens Court 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer

The first group of applicants is made up of eight single guys, all between 30 and 50 years old (Nivea, Braxton and Lozada are between 40 and 40 years old). The first night, everyone mingles at a cocktail party wearing masks, so no one judges anyone by their appearance. Once the masks are removed, the Queens are tasked with asking two of the men out. That leaves two men on the sidelines, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're out of luck.

During two-on-one dates the next day, the Queens dictate the activity: Nivea wants to be fed foods with aphrodisiac qualities, Tamar asks her boys to decorate a cake based on her vibe, and Evelyn asks her men to paint his portrait. . Each of them has individual time with their two dates.

Stars: Holly Robinson Peete, Tamar Braxton, Rodney Peete

After those dates, the Queens decide which of the eight singles, whether they attended the dates or not, are the most insecure. They then have to go to an "elimination dinner", where they can make their case to the Queens. However, at the table the only thing served is an invitation to stay or, for two of the men, the old cry, with the phrase "You are not our king."

Where do you think most of the interesting moments in Queens Court will come from? The 21 guys vying for Queens' affections, coming in what seems like 3 waves? Sure, some of them are interesting to watch, like former addict turned Marine JR. and the guy who calls himself "Gatsby", who seems to have a real, authentic self and a talkative guy who is an expert in everything. But the real drama will come from Nivea, Braxton and Lozada. It's what they know and we are absolutely here for it.

All three women seem ready for relationships that are less emotionally charged than those they have had in the past. All three show a level of maturity that they may not have had in their previous incarnations in reality. Everyone fires one of the bachelors, for example, because his hair is a little shaggy. But at the elimination dinner, he talks about losing a daughter and being sent to three war zones, and the three women realize they judged him too superficially at first.

Of course, he was also one of the quieter guys to begin with, as he didn't want to put on a show to impress the Queens, the cameras, or both. The oldest bachelor of the group says that, at 54, he has never experienced love and that he twice left the mother of his son at the altar. Only later, at dinner, does he explain that those proposals were more out of convenience than love. But, because he felt that he needed to stand out, he blew his chances almost immediately instead of letting the Queens know the real him.

But most of the entertainment comes from the Queens themselves. Nivea is fun and talkative, while Braxton tries to be on top of it all. Lozada is somewhere in the middle, super cautious a decade after the Johnson debacle and probably needing a lot of reassurance from these men before opening up.

It's those stories that will be continually examined by EP Will Packer and the show's producers, mined for evidence of who might make a proper human connection with the Queens, if that's what the Queens are truly looking for.

One thing we're wondering, even after watching the highlights of the first season, is whether the Queens will fight over a guy. We get the feeling that they are introduced to so many guys, that the idea is that everyone finds one or two guys that he really feels good about, and nothing will overlap. Packer and company want to foster camaraderie among the Queens, which is why the show is structured the way it is.

The Peetes are good hosts; Like the Lacheys on Love Is Blind, we like the moments where the famous couple reveals details of how they got together and how they've stayed together since the '90s. Holly seems more willing to share some of the things about Rodney than the ones he doubted when they met and dated, like his hair or his pro-athlete arrogance. But, as in other projects they do together, their on-screen chemistry is usually quite natural.
