I Am Groot will premiere on Disney+ on August 10, 2022. The animated shorts are, without a doubt, the most adorable project ever made in the MCU. Pure fun, pure chaos, and it made me smile the whole time. If you're looking for something fun and easy to watch, with a few surprises, this short is for Groot fans. The image is completely impressive. The glory days of Baby Groot growing up and getting into trouble among the stars.
Disney+ shorts are delightful little snippets of everyone's favorite alien tree. The comedy is surprisingly dark, yet still familiar, often feeling like missing pieces from the Guardians movies. I wonder what they can put in 20 minutes for a baby tree that only says 3 words.
Vin Diesel voiced Baby Groot and Bradley Cooper appeared as Rocket Raccoon. Drax the Destroyer is also seen in the shorts. The lovable Baby Groot's solo adventure will premiere on Disney+ on August 10, 2022.
Stars: Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Groot first appeared in 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy," in which the character sacrificed himself to be replaced by his son, "Baby Groot," who grew as an offspring from the body of Groot. the. "I am Groot" is set to explore Baby Groot's adventures across the galaxy away from the Guardians, as he meets new characters and finds himself in dangerous situations. Diesel returned to provide voiceovers for the series, and Bradley Cooper will once again provide the voice of Rocket Racoon, with other characters expected to return.
Each of the five animated shorts will explore a different point in Groot's childhood. The teaser shows Groot engaging in a fight with a militaristic group of little blue aliens, only to become their savior after a farting track proves to be a food source for the colony. Other clips shown include Groot exploring a giant spaceship, dancing with a gelatinous clone of himself, and dressing up in mossy clothing.
"I am Groot" marks the second MCU animated series to premiere on Disney+, following last year's anthology series "What If...?" Ryan Little, who served as script coordinator and writer on "What If...?", created "I Am Groot" and writes the series. Kirsten Lepore serves as director and executive producer with Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso and "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn.
Set somewhere between Guardians of the Galaxy Vols. 1 and 2, I Am Groot is a series of five 3-4 minute shorts that allow the cutest Guardian to break free and go on some solo adventures. Discover new life forms on an alien world, investigate an intruder aboard the ship, do some crafts, and treat yourself to a spa day. Oh, and everything is chaos. You wouldn't think a walking, talking twig could do this much damage, but it really can. That's mainly because what Baby Groot lacks in height, he more than makes up for in attitude.
What shows will it remind you of? I Am Groot channels the mayhem of old-school Looney Tunes in the best possible way. Due to the monosyllabic nature of Groot, writer/director/EP Kirsten Lepore (Adventure Time) essentially goes back to the dawn of animation and uses a lot of solid storytelling techniques. I'd say they don't make them that way anymore, but they clearly do.
