Wednesday will take wicked to a whole new level this Halloween. Jenna Ortega is taking on the beloved role in the new Netflix series, and Wednesday Addams has lost some of the bite out of her (literally). A new video, released on August 24, features the cast and crew breaking down what to expect in the highly anticipated series.
Wednesday, like the rest of her fearsome relatives, was created by cartoonist Charles Addams for illustrations in The New Yorker, beginning in the 1930s. The Addams Family has been adapted over the years in countless media projects, including the '90s movie franchise that featured Christina Ricci as Wednesday. For the 2019 animated film and its sequel, Wednesday was voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz.

Netflix revealed the main teaser on August 17. When Pugsley is bullied at school, Wednesday plots her revenge. "The only person who can torture my brother is me," Wednesday tells a group full of children before tossing two bags of piranhas into the pool. Naturally, she is expelled.
Wednesday is taken to Nevermore Academy, where her parents met. Her mother, Morticia Addams, told her Wednesday that she "finally" will be among her peers who "get" her. She meets many people along the way and finally thinks that she will like Nevermore.
Wednesday's first official trailer dropped on June 6 during Netflix's Geeked Week. The trailer and a newly released photo gave fans their first look at Jenna Ortega as the main character. Jenna epitomizes Wednesday with her signature braided pigtails and a black polka dot dress with a white collar. Thing also makes a quick appearance on Wednesday's left shoulder.
Release Date "Wednesday"
Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday will premiere in the fall of 2022. However, the exact month and day have yet to be announced. The first season will consist of eight episodes that will likely all debut on the same day. Wednesday will be available to stream only on Netflix.
