2026 is a monumental year for *Zillennials* everywhere—well, at least if you’re a Disney fan. If you haven’t realized it yet, it’s not just the anniversary of *Hannah Montana*, but also the anniversary of *High School Musical*! And all in the same year? Twenty years later, the nostalgia hits you like a brick the instant Miley Cyrus steps onto the scene with her blonde bangs and that shiny gold belt. Although Miley herself looks mature and elegant now, her Tennessee personality shines through instantly the moment she sets foot on the set—the very home of the Stewarts! But, almost immediately, you feel that something is missing.  That’s because most of the show’s main cast doesn’t appear in this anniversary special. Even so, I can’t complain, considering that Miley is the sole reason we had the opportunity to enjoy this special at all. Twenty years ago, when I was just a little girl myself, I had a poster of the pop star with the double life hanging on my pink and purple walls (quite...

Three Pines 2022 Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Originally announced in May 2020 by Deadline, "Three Pines" is an adaptation of Canadian author Louise Penny's hit 17-novel mystery series set in Three Pines, with kindhearted Chief Inspector Armand Gamache as the protagonist who solves the murders. from the city. British screenwriter Emilia di Girolamo, known for "The Tunnel" and "Law & Order: U.K.", is the main screenwriter for the series and adapted it from the Penny series of books. The series dates back to 2005 with the first entry, "Still Life". The 17th and most recent book, "The Madness of Crowds," was published in August 2021. Amazon's upcoming series comes from Left Bank Pictures, the production company behind "The Crown" for Netflix.

Alfred Molina will take on the role of Chief Inspector Armand Gamache in the new series from Amazon and Left Bank Pictures, "Three Pines." The “Spider-Man 2” star plays the beloved detective who investigates a series of murders in a picturesque Canadian town. Clare Coulter ("I, Daniel Blake"), Anna Tierney ("Deceit") and Rossif Sutherland ("River") also co-star.

The 8-part series is based on the best-selling mystery novels by Louise Penny and will shoot in Montreal and Quebec through December. It marks the first Canadian-based project for the creators of "The Crown" Left Bank.

Stars: Alfred Molina, Rossif Sutherland, Marie-Josée Bélanger

"With 'Three Pines,' we continue to grow our slate of local originals and overall investment in Canada," said Christina Wayne, director of Canadian originals at Amazon Studios. “The series will be our first locally produced scripted drama, and we are thrilled to be working with Left Bank to bring these layered characters, unique settings and masterfully constructed mysteries that Louise created to Prime Video. Alfred Molina perfectly embodies Gamache's cerebral and compassionate nature, and leads a tremendous cast."

“Alfred Molina is one of my favorite actors and it's exciting to work with him again,” said Andy Harries, CEO of Left Bank Pictures. “His warmth, talent and charisma are perfect for playing Louise Penny's beloved Inspector Gamache. We are privileged to film 'Three Pines' as our first series in Canada and bring the originality and popularity of their incredible stories to a global audience."

Andy Harries, Sharon Hughff and John Phillips will executive produce for Left Bank Pictures. Sam Donovan, Emilia di Girolamo and Alfred Molina will also serve as executive producers.

Amazon Prime Video will stream the series in Canada, the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Greenland, while Left Bank owner Sony Pictures Television will handle other sales. international.

"Three Pines" is an adaptation of the mystery book series written by Louise Penny, so the premise is quite simple: there will be multiple murders in the Amazon original series, and Inspector Gamache (Molina) will try to solve them. The tagline, according to the Amazon statement, reads: "Gamache de la Sûreté du Québec is a man who sees things that others do not see: the light between the cracks, the mythical in the mundane, and the evil in the seemingly ordinary. As he investigates a series of murders in Three Pines, a seemingly idyllic town, unearths long-buried secrets and confronts some of his own ghosts."

In general, Penny's murder mysteries are cozy whodunits, rich in Canadian history and with an eccentric cast of small-town characters. She thinks of Agatha Christie, but in Québecois. They also don't contain much in the way of excessive sex or violence, so the tone of the series will likely lean even more towards Christie rather than more recent criminal proceedings like the often lurid "Criminal Minds."

At this point, it's unclear if the plan is to adapt "Still Life," the first book in the series, or to go another route. "Still Life" was previously adapted into the 2013 TV movie "Still Life: A Three Pines Mystery". Fans of the books and the mystery genre will simply have to wait for more information on the upcoming series, though probably not much.
