This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. American Born Chinese 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

 Disney Plus has given the green light to "American Born Chinese," a series based on Gene Luen Yang's graphic novel of the same name. Michelle Yeoh is a mythological goddess in the new Disney+ series American Born Chinese. Based on the genre-hopping graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang.

“It's a lot of fun, it's a record of magic, it's a lot of badass action,” Yeoh says in the clip you can see in the video above. Yeoh adds later, "It's a magical ride and that's what Disney+ is all about."

Stars: Ben Wang, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan

American Born Chinese tells the story of Jin Wang (Ben Wang), an average teenager juggling his high school social life and his home life. When he meets a new student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin unknowingly becomes entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods.


Joining Wang are Yeo Yann Yann as Christine Wang, Chin Han as Simon Wang, Ke Huy Quan as Freddy Wong, Jimmy Liu as Wei-Chen, Sydney Taylor as Amelia with Daniel Wu as Sun Wukong “The Monkey King” and Yeoh as Guanyin. .


Kelvin Yu (Bob's Burgers) serves as executive producer and showrunner. Destin Daniel Cretton (Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) will direct and executive produce, along with Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan (Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.), Erin O'Malley (Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.), Asher Goldstein (Short Term 12) and Gene Luen Yang. The Disney Branded Television series is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios.


Guest directors on the show include Peng Zhang and Lucy Liu. American Born Chinese is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.


The action comedy follows Jin Wang, a teenager who juggles his social life in high school and his home life as an immigrant. When Jin meets a new exchange student on the first day of school, his worlds collide as Jin becomes entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods. Identity, culture and family are themes everywhere.


“American Born Chinese” is written and produced by Kelvin and Charles Yu, along with Melvin Mar, Jake Kasdan, Asher Goldstein and Yang. Destin Daniel Cretton serves as director and executive producer. “American Born Chinese” is a production of 20th Television. Mar and Kasdan were previously executive producers of the ABC comedy series "Fresh Off the Boat." They and their Detective Agency production company are currently under an umbrella deal at 20th TV.


Executive producer and writer Kelvin Yu spoke about the project saying, "Gene Luen Yang's book is a staple in American literature and very important to an entire generation of readers."


Commented Yang, who created the graphic novel, “I feel very fortunate to work with this team. Melvin Mar is a man with a vision, and I am deeply grateful that he has taken this project under his wing. Kelvin Yu is a phenomenal talent. His script brings to television everything I wanted to convey in my book ”.


Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis added: “The team is a visionary at bringing character-driven adventures to life, and we can't wait for audiences to experience this fantastically memorable and imaginative adaptation of the graphic novel. This is a great universal story that moves between worlds and explores the impact of culture, identity and acceptance through the lens of adolescence.
