Saipan 2026 Movie Review Trailer

Saipan 2026. A film loosely based on the conflict between the Republic of Ireland coach, Mike McCarthy (Steve Coogan), and his star player, Roy Keane (Eanna Hardwicke), and Keane's subsequent departure from the Irish squad for the World Cup. To begin with, Hardwicke doesn't resemble Keane at all—she's much taller—but she does capture his arrogance. Coogan isn't an exact copy either, but she does capture his seemingly chaotic approach to player management. Directors: Lisa Barros D'Sa, Glenn Leyburn Writer:: Paul Fraser Stars: Éanna Hardwicke, Steve Coogan, Peter McDonald What I felt while watching the film was the disastrous state of Irish planning. That was the problem: Keane, of Manchester United fame, expected more. I watched The Damned United last week, which deals with the rivalry between Brian Clough and Don Revie. It's tense, funny, and genuinely interesting, but this isn't. It's okay, and it plays on Irish stereotypes. The best part for me was hea...

MaXXXine 2023 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

"X" marks the spot when Maxine (Mia Goth) finally finds fame in Hollywood. Ti West's slasher trilogy with "X" and "Pearl" now concludes with "MaXXXine," starring Goth as the lead character set a decade after the events of an adult movie gone wrong on a southern farmhouse. Now it's 1985 and Maxine has found her way to Los Angeles, where her name stands on the hills instead of the Hollywood sign. She looks like she has finally gotten her wish to be famous.

The A24 feature was announced after the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of "Pearl," the prequel to "X." West writes and directs "MaXXXine," with Goth reprising one of her two roles on "X."

Director: Ti West
Writer: Ti West
Star: Mia Goth

The official tagline reads: "The film follows Maxine (Goth), after the events of X, as the sole survivor who continues her journey to fame and sets out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles."

“Pearl” made its world premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival and presented its North American debut at TIFF. The film will be released nationwide on Friday, September 16. Set half a century before the horrifying events of "X," the film stars Goth as the future lead of the psychopathic Pearl, here a flashing-eyed farm girl with a short fuse and deadly ambition.

"If 'X' is West's love letter to '70s-era exploitation movies and independent porn, 'Pearl' is an unholy ode to Technicolor fairy tales and the corrosive power of Hollywood, even in its first incarnation," IndieWire's Kate Erbland wrote in her review of the film.

The main Goth star also has a writing credit on "Pearl," while "MaXXXine" with A24 will be executive produced by Jacob Jaffke, and writer-director West will produce alongside Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss.

West previously told IndieWire's Eric Kohn that the third film will be "about how home video has affected people" in the 1980s.

“I'm very proud of this,” West said. “They are super different and very out of nowhere. You won't need to see one to see the other, but they complement each other."

He added: "I'm trying to build a world out of all this, like people do these days. You can't make a slasher movie without a bunch of sequels."
