This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt; The Jurassic World and The LEGO Movie franchise) and his brother Luigi (Charlie Day; It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) work underground to fix a water pipe when they are transported through a pipe mysterious and enter a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic adventure to find Luigi.


Mario finds his strength with the help of Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad (Keegan-Michael Key; The Lion King) and some training from the Mushroom Kingdom's tenacious ruler, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy; The Queen's Gambit). 


The Super Mario Brothers Movie features an outstanding comedy cast. These include Jack Black (Jumanji movies) as Bowser, Seth Rogen (Bad Neighbors series) as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Saturday Night Live) as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson (American Dad!, Family Guy) as Kamek , and Sebastián Maniscalco (Green Book) is in the role of Spike. It also features Charles Martinet as the special voice actor who has been playing the characters Mario and Luigi from the Super Mario games for over 30 years.

 Netflix has released a trailer for the new sci-fi anime, Moonrise, which shows the main character Jack in action against creatures that serve as antagonists in the Earth vs. Moon conflict.
