Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special 2026 Tv Series Review Trailer

2026 is a monumental year for *Zillennials* everywhere—well, at least if you’re a Disney fan. If you haven’t realized it yet, it’s not just the anniversary of *Hannah Montana*, but also the anniversary of *High School Musical*! And all in the same year? Twenty years later, the nostalgia hits you like a brick the instant Miley Cyrus steps onto the scene with her blonde bangs and that shiny gold belt. Although Miley herself looks mature and elegant now, her Tennessee personality shines through instantly the moment she sets foot on the set—the very home of the Stewarts! But, almost immediately, you feel that something is missing.  That’s because most of the show’s main cast doesn’t appear in this anniversary special. Even so, I can’t complain, considering that Miley is the sole reason we had the opportunity to enjoy this special at all. Twenty years ago, when I was just a little girl myself, I had a poster of the pop star with the double life hanging on my pink and purple walls (quite...

Krapopolis 2023 Tv Series Review Trailer

The idea behind Dan Harmon's latest animated series is that it can take a while to build a civilization when there are a lot of competing interests, egos, and messy humans involved. It's apt territory to explore considering how long it took for Krapopolis to be built and aired. Harmon signed a deal with Fox in 2020 to create a new animated series and the premiere has since been delayed several times. Interestingly, despite the constant setbacks, Fox also renewed the show for two more seasons before a single episode aired.

That means Fox is confident Krapopolis will be a network staple, and that hope is likely based on the popularity of Harmon's success with Rick and Morty. With that show and Community before it, Harmon gained a following, which is increasingly rare these days, and Fox hopes fans will continue to watch everything Harmon posts. That said, I'm not sure Krapopolis will appeal to fans of Harmon's previous shows. While the series features some of his signature thematic reflections on humanity, kindness, and what it means to be connected to other people, Krapopolis isn't as fresh or sharp as Harmon's previous outings.

Creator: Dan Harmon
Stars: Richard Ayoade, Matt Berry, Hannah Waddingham

Krapopolis is set in a mythical version of Ancient Greece, where Tyrannis (Richard Ayoade) dreams of building the world's first civilization, where war and bloodshed are put aside in favor of democracy and humanity. This, of course, is easier said than done, as Tyrannis must deal with his overbearing and selfish mother/goddess Deliria (Hannah Waddingham), the chaotic Hippocampus (Duncan Trussell), the whims of the human species, and even a tribe of cannibals . Tyrannis wants to unite everyone, insisting that civilization is the way of the future and that cities and empires are the next big thing, but his message fails to resonate, in part because he lacks the charisma or vision of a true leader.

If any of this sounds familiar, he's not wrong. Despite the mythical setting, Harmon addresses some of his favorite themes here. There are outcasts of all kinds who must find ways to work together, to connect with each other despite their differences. Harmon reflects on ideas of humanity, community, and what we owe each other in terms of grace and compassion. The problem is that most of this is surface-level philosophizing at best, at least in the first three episodes that were available to critics, and unfortunately, you won't be laughing very often at the jokes here either. , as they are mostly flat, trite observations that don't really have a punchline; Tyrannis even says that one of his jokes is "not very funny" in the premiere, which is an unfortunately apt description for much of the show's humor.

While the voice cast is doing a good job, and the first three episodes have their moments (the premiere in particular contains a hilarious fight sequence where no one involved really wants to fight but feels compelled to), it's just difficult imagine current Harmon fans. Work to keep this one. There's a chance that viewers who don't know Rick and Morty or Community will stumble upon the show and find it to be an affable and enjoyable 30 minutes to watch, but for those who have really anticipated a new show created by Harmon, Krapopolis won't be up to par. height. to the bass drum.
