This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. Code 8: Part II 2024 Movie Review Trailer

 In the sequel to the 2019 film “Code 8,” a girl embarks on a quest for justice after her brother falls victim to corrupt police officers. Seeking help from her ex-partner, an ex-convict, the narrative unfolds against a backdrop of moral ambiguity and shifting alliances.

In “Code 8: Part II,” Connor (played by Robbie Amell) strives to leave his criminal past behind and works as a janitor at a community center. However, his resolve is tested when he becomes involved in the plight of 14-year-old Pav (played by Sirena Gulamgaus), who is pursued by corrupt officers led by Sergeant King (Alex Mallari Jr.). . As Connor reluctantly returns to a world of crime, he must navigate murky waters and decide whether to trust his former partner Garrett (Stephen Amell), who may hold the key to his survival.

The “Code 8” franchise originated with a 2016 short film directed by Jeff Chan, starring brothers Amell and Sung Kang. Following a successful fundraising campaign that raised $3.4 million, the short film was adapted into a feature-length production, hitting theaters in 2019 and then streaming on Netflix in 2020. Despite initial plans for a Spinoff series on the now-defunct Quibi platform, the franchise continues to resonate with audiences and critics, cementing its place as a compelling entry in the sci-fi genre.

 Netflix has released a trailer for the new sci-fi anime, Moonrise, which shows the main character Jack in action against creatures that serve as antagonists in the Earth vs. Moon conflict.
