This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead 2024 Movie Review Trailer

 In "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," the titular mother travels to Australia for a well-deserved break, leaving her five children in the care of a notoriously awful babysitter. When said nanny dies prematurely, the children find themselves in a difficult situation: not only are they free from supervision, but they are also left without the funds that her mother left behind. She points to her older sister, Sue Ellen (played by Christina Applegate), who steps up to the plate to support her siblings.

Watching Sue Ellen navigate the professional world is reminiscent of the career-centric novels of yesteryear, where brave young people stumbled upon fortunate opportunities and emerged victorious.

Christina Applegate shines in the role, exuding a sense of self-confidence beyond her years as she navigates the ups and downs of her newfound career. Along with her, the film features a colorful cast of characters, from the sincere boyfriend to the office gossip, each adding their own flair to the story.


As Sue Ellen's siblings also undergo personal transformations, from the stoner brother who discovers his passion for cooking to the fashion-forward younger siblings who become young models, the film becomes a celebration of self-discovery and resilience in the face of adversity.


At its core, “Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead” is a whimsical story of empowerment and growing up, wrapped in the trappings of '90s teen comedy. While it may seem like a light-hearted game on the surface, its underlying message of seizing opportunities and accepting responsibility resonates with viewers of all ages.
