Burial 2022 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

Burial is documentary filmmaker Emilija Škarnulyte's sparse, detailed and disturbing look at the ongoing cleanup at Lithuania's decommissioned Ignalina nuclear reactor, Chernobyl's sister power plant, which was taken offline shortly after the latter suffered a meltdown. disastrous due to structural and technological similarities. At the peak of its production capabilities, Ignalina was the most powerful nuclear power plant in the world. Now, it's a delicate ecological issue trying to clean it up, one that will continue to the end of this century and beyond.

There's no dialogue throughout Burial, except for a bit of stock audio and a bit of on-screen text here and there for context. Škarnulyte often works in close-ups, appropriately trying to get to the atomic level of everything, which sometimes offers some disturbing images, especially in an abandoned underwater uranium mine.

Director: Ben Parker
Writer: Ben Parker
Stars: Tom Felton, Harriet Walter, Charlotte Vega

Some of the best documentaries give viewers an inside look at spaces and places they might never see otherwise, and Burial is a great example of that. The images are often fascinating. It's a shame that Škarnulyte gives in to obvious symbolism too often, throwing off what is a perfectly decent observational documentary. Long bits involving a snake slithering through some of the gaps don't add much, and the ending on the nose seems out of place and obvious in ways the rest of the movie seeks to avoid.

In the trailer, I task a small group of Russian soldiers to return the remains of Adolf Hitler to Stalin in Russia. Forgoing the speed and comfort of a plane, intelligence officer Brana Vasilyeva (Vega) is told that accomplishing this feat as quietly as possible is of the utmost importance, so that the truth of what happened is not buried. forever. The journey from Berlin to Russia proves perilous as soldiers trudge through mud and thick woods, burying Hitler's remains each night in case his troops are attacked and killed during the night. The mission to deliver the body takes precedence over their own lives as they begin to be picked off one at a time in a series of "Werewolf" attacks by the German resistance. The ticking of the clock in the background of the trailer builds the tension as the soldiers begin to question their sanity, paranoia setting in as they are constantly stalked and chased.
