Quiver Distribution has acquired the worldwide rights to the buddy comedy Bromates, starring Lil Rel Howery and Josh Brener, and it will open on over 100 US screens and on VOD on October 7th.
The film from director Court Crandall (Old School) follows best friends, albeit polar opposites, Jonesie (Howery) and Sid (Brener), who break up with their girlfriends at the same time and decide to live together. Things then quickly go from heartbreak to hilarity to life or death. Pic also has an underlying social message, promoting the use of solar energy and responsible environmental stewardship.

A Darius Films, Grambo Productions and Snoopadelic Films Inc. production, Bromates also stars Brendan Scannell (Heathers), Asif Ali (WandaVision), Jessica Lowe (Blended), Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect), Ken Davitian (Borat), Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black), Marla Gibbs (The Jeffersons), Rob Riggle (The Hangover), and Snoop Dogg (Baby Boy). Crandall directed from a script he wrote with Chris Kemper, who serves as CEO of Palmetto Solar. Nicholas Tabarrok served as producer, with Kemper and Snoop Dogg serving as executive producers.
“Based loosely on a true story, we tried to create a comedy that delivered the big laughs of our favorite timeless movies,” said Crandall, “while providing a new twist in terms of cast composition and underlying focus on clean energy. ”

[This type of ad] has to achieve that in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the maximum duration allowed by the MPA. Each studio or distributor may exceed this time limit once a year, if deemed necessary for a particular film."
