 This review of the Netflix reality dating series Dating and Related Season 1 is spoiler-free. In a world where online dating is the new norm, we are still struggling and longing for the good old days of meeting someone in person. How do you do this? Through a controlled program for the entertainment of other people. In this new reality dating show, we see sixteen single contestants, all pairs of siblings, travel to the South of France to find love. The couples stay in a villa and go on a series of dates in front of their siblings.

I instantly thought this series would be full of drama as we all know how judgmental and protective siblings can be. I know my brother and I would just be yelling, laughing at each other and finding the whole situation embarrassing. I don't need to know his moves and flirting techniques, and he doesn't need to know mine. Is this dating show going too far?

In this series, there are ten episodes to watch, all of which are approximately less than an hour long. It's a fast binge. The contestants are from all over the world, from Essex to Texas, they all look like people who would be on Love Island.


This is where the shows fail for me, I would really like to see some average Joe people, not the poster boys and girls, model types. That's where it loses any kind of fun authenticity. These contestants seem to come here just to become famous instead of looking for a soul mate.


Another thing that bores me to see is young people, all the contestants were in their twenties, I would really like to see more people in their thirties, forties and fifties. This would have brought more dynamics to the groups and challenges.

 Netflix has just released the official trailer for the live-action version of “One Piece”, about a group of young pirates. The show, which will launch on August 31, is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga series of the same name. The story follows a boy named Monkey D.
