1091 Pictures, a Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment company, will release the psychological horror film Nix on all major digital platforms on September 27, 2022. Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. He's the same director who made all three Sharknado movies for the Syfy Channel, but that's not all he can do! Nix is ​​Ferrante's first horror drama film since his 2005 hit Boo. A family is on a dark and terrifying journey into their own self-created madness when a mysterious entity manifests. It is described as "a modern horror movie dealing with trauma and addiction and how a tragedy twenty years earlier tears a family apart." The indie horror film stars James Zimbardi, Michael Paré, Skyler Caleb, Angie Teodora Dick and Dee Wallace. The twisted lake creature in this isn't that scary, just a man with some latex prosthetics. A psychological horror film inspired by Germanic folklore, Nix's story follows a tragedy at a mysterious lake and its terrifying aftermath as a broken family learns the truth.

Dee Wallace, an established movie icon with roles in Rob Zombie's Halloween, Cujo, The Frighteners and E.T. by Steven Spielberg, plays the matriarch of the family. The film also introduces Skyler Caleb (Waking), Angie Teodora Dick (Zombie Tidal Wave), and introduces Niesha Renee Guilbot.


Anthony C. Ferrante directed the worldwide phenomenon Sharknado and its subsequent sequels. This will be his first horror drama film since the 2005 hit Boo.

“Once we landed on the concept for Nix and realized its potential, I was excited to get back to my horror roots with this elevated, original horror film,” said Ferrante. “It was also an opportunity to delve into these fractured and haunted characters and explore the depth and emotion within this dark setting while still providing solid thrills and chills.
