Werewolf by Night 2022 Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Marvel Studios is celebrating Halloween in style. The studio has revealed details and the first trailer for "Werewolf by Night," the MCU's upcoming Halloween special set to premiere on October 7 on Disney+ this fall.


Marvel's Werewolf by Night Halloween special might not be as scary as some would expect, as it's been labeled a comedy on Disney+. Created in 1972, Werewolf by Night has been a mainstay of Marvel's supernatural comics, crossing over with the likes of Blade, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight. The story centers on a man named Jack Russell who is cursed to transform into a werewolf.


Marvel Studios announced that they were developing a Halloween special in 2021, but they didn't officially confirm that it was Werewolf by Night until the trailer was shown at D23. Directed by legendary composer Michael Giacchino, the Werewolf by Night trailer is unlike anything in the MCU, a black-and-white take on Universal's monster movies. The trailer's tone struck a balance between classically campy but also offering genuine horror and the presence of Werewolf by Night and the Man-Thing character many assumed the story would be one of Marvel's first horror stories.

Gael García Bernal stars in the special as Jack Russell, known in Marvel Comics as the Werewolf by Night. Created by Gerry Conway and Mike Ploog in 1972, Jack is an ordinary man burdened with an ancient family curse that turns him into a werewolf. After managing to conquer his bestial nature, he becomes a wandering hero who uses his powers to fight demons and other evil forces, frequently crossing paths with other Marvel heroes in the process.

Laura Donnelly will star alongside Bernal in an undisclosed role. Michael Giacchino, who has worked as a composer on such Marvel movies as "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Thor: Love and Thunder," is directing the special. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Victoria Alonso are executive producers.

Although the special will apparently be one of a kind, the chances of Werewolf by Night appearing in other MCU projects cannot be ruled out. In the comics, the character has been a frequent guest star for other heroes, particularly the creepier members of the Marvel Universe. Moon Knight, played in the MCU by Oscar Isaac, started out as a villain in the "Werewolf by Night" comic. Other characters the werewolf is strongly associated with include Blade, who is getting his own movie starring Mahershala Ali, and Doctor Strange, who has been played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the MCU.

 Netflix has just released the official trailer for the live-action version of “One Piece”, about a group of young pirates. The show, which will launch on August 31, is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga series of the same name. The story follows a boy named Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) who can stretch his body as if it were made of rubber and travels with a group of friends called the Straw Hat Pirates in search of a treasure known as One Piece, which would make him the Pirate King.
