Everything Calls for Salvation 2022 Tv Series Review Trailer Cast Crew

Everything Calls for Salvation is an Italian drama series that airs on Netflix. It is directed by Francesco Bruni and starring Federico Cesari. A young man spends a week in a psychiatric ward, where he meets five other patients and must deal with cynical doctors and nurses.


Everything Calls for Salvation (also Tutto Chiede Salvezza) premiered on Netflix on October 14, 2022, just days after World Mental Health Day. The Italian series presents its story in 7 episodes, each of which covers a day of the week that the protagonist, Daniele (Federico Cesari), spends in the psychiatric ward. It is based on Daniele Mencarelli's book of the same name that analyzes the author's personal experience around the subject.

Directed by Cesari, the cast also brings together Vincenzo Crea's Gianluca, Lorenzo Renzi's Giorgio, Andrea Pennacchi's Mario, Fotini Peluso's Nina and more, with each of their characters battling their own demons, whether they like to admit it or not. Delving into what society sees through a reductionist lens as "crazy" but actually demands a proper medical diagnosis, the entire narrative is based on the widespread perception of mental health and what it really is.


In seven episodes, we follow Daniele's stay in the psychiatric and treatment room, one episode a day. He has landed there after a wild night on the town and with amnesia he doesn't remember anything that brought him there.


With a good premise, and very focused on the characters, we are introduced to a group of characters, each with the disorder of it. The script is solidly built, flows and allows us to follow the development of the protagonist in this part of his journey. The performances are good and convincing.


The photography and cinematography of 'Everything calls for salvation' does not occupy a central place in this series, nor does it require it, given the narrative structure that relies entirely on the characters and their stories.


Guided by the characters of the stories and the development of its protagonist at all times, there are no great luxuries cinematographically speaking. This is a series for those who are in the mood to watch an account simply for the story.

The show, which will launch on August 31, is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's beloved manga series of the same name. The story follows a boy named Monkey D.
