Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special 2026 Tv Series Review Trailer

2026 is a monumental year for *Zillennials* everywhere—well, at least if you’re a Disney fan. If you haven’t realized it yet, it’s not just the anniversary of *Hannah Montana*, but also the anniversary of *High School Musical*! And all in the same year? Twenty years later, the nostalgia hits you like a brick the instant Miley Cyrus steps onto the scene with her blonde bangs and that shiny gold belt. Although Miley herself looks mature and elegant now, her Tennessee personality shines through instantly the moment she sets foot on the set—the very home of the Stewarts! But, almost immediately, you feel that something is missing.  That’s because most of the show’s main cast doesn’t appear in this anniversary special. Even so, I can’t complain, considering that Miley is the sole reason we had the opportunity to enjoy this special at all. Twenty years ago, when I was just a little girl myself, I had a poster of the pop star with the double life hanging on my pink and purple walls (quite...

Love Never Lies: Destination Sardinia 2022 Tv Series Review Trailer

These six couples that Monica mentioned have agreed to appear on the Spanish reality show Love ever Lies, whose first season was a worldwide success. Pretty people cheating on each other in a beautiful beach setting? What's not to like?

In this second season, the couples were taken to the Italian island of Sardinia and then separated from their partners and reunited with previous lovers or crushes to see what happens. During this separation, they are asked a series of questions about their past and their dating/cheating habits. This is where Eye Detect comes into play. This state-of-the-art technology is a fancy lie detector test that sounds an alarm if a partner is lying, revealing it to the entire cast during what's called a "Truth Ceremony." It's here that couples learn things they never knew about their partners, making things often awkward, sometimes hurtful, and always exciting as the show progresses.

There is also one more important thing about this season. The premiere episode is called “Five and a Half Couples”, because just 48 hours before the arrival of the cast, one of the couples, María and Javi, had an explosive argument in which Javi admits to having cheated on María. María arrives at the villa alone and introduces herself and explains the situation, which generates sympathy for her among the rest of the couples. (Man, I love it when weird stuff like this gets thrown into a show's plans. It reminds me of the VH1 reality series Couples Therapy that aired years ago and featured a bunch of "celebrity" couples, people like Dina and Michael Lohan or Jon Gosselin and a woman he began dating after he and Kate divorced, to help strengthen their dysfunctional relationships. For a season, Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham appeared alone, her boyfriend having decided (Trust me when I say Farrah still managed to bring enough drama for two people that season.) Anyway, Maria explains that she's sure Javi confessed to her cheating before the show started because she was afraid that Eye Detect revealed all his lies. Watching the drama unfold in real time as Maria and Javi arrive separately, one of the other contestants, Alejandro, marvels at the drama, saying, "It's like I'm in a movie!"

When Monica Naranjo asks couples whether or not they think they'll get through this season candidly and honestly, most seem certain they have nothing to hide. The show playfully frames each couple and cuts to scenes we'll see later in the season, as they discover all the ways their partners have betrayed them. How rude to hang all the good stuff in front of us and then make us wait to see how it all plays out! But that's the genius of the show, isn't it?

I tend to view any show about couples with trust issues as innately incomplete, as they prey on the vulnerabilities and insecurities of a group of people and invite people to break up their own relationships. I mean, breakups are the root of 90% of sad songs and emotional binge eating, and here we're trying to see what kind of emotional conflict these people can take before they break down. But the feeling that I get at the beginning of many of the couples on this show (well, except Maria and Javi) is that many of them feel that they are strong enough to withstand the lie detector and the hard truths that they will find. expensive. One contestant, Lucía, explains: "I'm actually afraid to find out about Antonio, because he seems so decent." All of that comes crashing down during the Truth Ceremony, when they begin to learn the secrets, which range from their partners having sexual fantasies about their exes, to outright cheating. (It turns out that Javi cheated on Maria with not just one girl, but three in one night, as she admits to her Eye Detect test of her. Maria completely breaks down and has to leave the set when she finds out about him.) this).

Mónica Naranjo's hosting style also gives the show some drama, as she's not simply there to move the segments forward, but she stands in the way of the drama. If a cast member doesn't give her partner a proper answer, Monica, who knows everything, will vouch for him. She also insists that Eye Detect is "foolproof", so if the contestants protest when they are caught in a lie, she doesn't believe them. It's weird and funny as well as uncomfortable and terrifying.

The first episode doesn't even dive into the outrageous behavior that is about to occur on the island yet again, people including sexy and seductive exes and strangers are brought in to tempt the contestants, but the scenes of the rest of the season tease us with loads of sex.
