Saipan 2026 Movie Review Trailer

Saipan 2026. A film loosely based on the conflict between the Republic of Ireland coach, Mike McCarthy (Steve Coogan), and his star player, Roy Keane (Eanna Hardwicke), and Keane's subsequent departure from the Irish squad for the World Cup. To begin with, Hardwicke doesn't resemble Keane at all—she's much taller—but she does capture his arrogance. Coogan isn't an exact copy either, but she does capture his seemingly chaotic approach to player management. Directors: Lisa Barros D'Sa, Glenn Leyburn Writer:: Paul Fraser Stars: Éanna Hardwicke, Steve Coogan, Peter McDonald What I felt while watching the film was the disastrous state of Irish planning. That was the problem: Keane, of Manchester United fame, expected more. I watched The Damned United last week, which deals with the rivalry between Brian Clough and Don Revie. It's tense, funny, and genuinely interesting, but this isn't. It's okay, and it plays on Irish stereotypes. The best part for me was hea...

She cues the strippers and the champagne. But, according to the film's tagline, “when things go off the rails and secrets are revealed, your relaxing vacation turns into a once-in-a-lifetime cross-country adventure.”

Director: Bill Holderman
Writers: Bill Holderman, Erin Simms
Stars: Mary Steenburgen, Don Johnson, Diane Keaton

With most studios betting heavily on big-budget blockbusters and superhero movies starring the most promising stars like Tom Holland or Florence Pugh, it's hard to see how a movie like Book Club could ever be made. And thank goodness he did! The film was not only widely praised for the performances of its experienced cast, but also managed to earn over $100 million on a budget of $14 million. Suddenly, the movie that had a seemingly impossible path to success had fans looking forward to the inevitable sequel. A year after the first film was released, star Mary Steenburgen announced that she was in the works for a sequel. The new movie will follow the same book club group as they leave their comfort zone once again.

It doesn't take long for Italy to work its charm on the fabulous foursome. “I love this town,” says Carole, Steenburgen's character, in the trailer. Bergen's Sharon replies, "I love everything that's falling apart more than I do."

“Book Club” became a surprise hit at the box office, earning $104 million worldwide on a budget of $14 million. The story follows four septuagenarians who experience a new awakening after reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" for their monthly book club.

The follow-up film will be released in theaters on May 12, 2023, timed for Mother's Day. Focus Features will distribute in the US, while Universal Pictures International will release the film abroad.

The ensemble cast will also see the return of Andy Garcia, Don Johnson, and Craig T. Nelson, as well as new cast members including Giancarlo Giannini, Hugh Quarshie, and Vincent Riotta.

Bill Holderman returns to direct with a script he wrote with Erin Simms. The duo will also serve as producers. Executive producers are Brad Weston, Trish Hofmann, Enzo Sisti and Andrew Duncan.
