Detective Knight: Redemption 2022 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

Bruce Willis returns in this second installment of Edward Drake's action franchise, this time set during the holiday season.

Due to his actions against a group of bank robbers during Halloween, former detective James Knight has been sentenced to prison in New York City. He decides to go unnoticed and keep to himself. Meanwhile, one of the robbers, Casey Rhodes, is also serving time. This all happens when a bomb attack occurs at a local bank, led by a group of people dressed in Santa Claus suits. However, the man who once masterminded the bombings, former soldier Ricky, is behind bars with Knight and Casey.

Director: Edward Drake
Writers: Edward Drake, Corey Large
Stars: Bruce Willis, Corey Large, John Cassini

Ricky decides to orchestrate an escape to continue his work, since he feels that people do not know the true meaning of Christmas and his only way to teach the lesson is through violence. When the plan is executed, in a moment of desperation, Casey joins Ricky and his group in hopes of seeing his family again. However, when NYPD Chief Shea finds out about the plan, she gives Knight the chance to retrieve the badge from him. If he successfully captures and doesn't kill Ricky, he will be free and come back in force. However, Knight may have to confide in the last person he expects: his former partner Fitzgerald, now wheelchair-bound because of Casey.

With the release of the previous Detective Knight: Rogue, set on Halloween, it's quite interesting to see this second installment set on the Christmas holidays. In what will be the last film franchise from the recently retired Bruce Willis, we don't get to see as much of Willis as we might hope in a leading role. The movie focuses more on the supporting cast of him, and yet somehow, when we see Willis, he packs a punch. Whether he's talking tough to his former partner and the assistant district attorney or getting in on part of the action, Willis makes the most of his role as the titular Detective Knight.

Lochlyn Munro is excellent as Knight's friend and ex-partner, Fitzgerald, and she comes to the city that never sleeps from Los Angeles, wheelchair and all. He has a moral compass that is compromised when he learns that Casey, the man who put him in his situation now, may end up becoming a viable asset when he finds out about Ricky's plan and plans to somehow earn his freedom by switching teams. . Beau Mirchoff makes a grand return as the troubled Casey Rhodes, who, like Knight, is out to redeem himself by turning his impulsive reaction into an infiltration mission.

Paul Johansson seems to have a knack for playing villains when he calls for it. With stints on Martial Law II: Undercover, Beverly Hills 90210, and One Tree Hill, he's the perfect casting choice for Ricky the Christmas Bomber. He seems to play the bad guy who becomes charming because when we're introduced to Ricky, he seems likeable. But once his true colors come out, Ricky's villainous side comes out and who better than Johansson to pull it off, as he is the definition of a "villainous actor." A third and final installment is scheduled for early 2023.

Detective Knight: Redemption is a fun holiday action flick with Bruce Willis doing what he does best in his limited screen time.

The new trailer shows how Detective Knight (Willis) remains in custody after the events of the first film. In Detective Knight: Rogue, Knight hunted down a group of bank robbers who killed his partner on Halloween night. When he confronts the mastermind behind the bank robberies, Knight shoots the man and is arrested for murder immediately afterward. Now, Detective Knight: Redemption will give Willis the chance to get his badge back after a riot breaks out at the prison where he's been held.

As the trailer explains, the riot is led by The Christmas Bomber, a vicious criminal whose disciples terrorize the city on Christmas night. Unfortunately, the police are busy with the crime wave outside the prison and they need a man on the inside to put out the fire of the rebellion. So if Knight wants to be forgiven for his crime, he'll have to get into the Christmas spirit and chase down some naughty men. It's exciting, to say the least, watching Willis take down the bad guys on Christmas Eve. After all, one of his most beloved movies is Die Hard, which also happens at Christmas. So while it's sad to see Willis retire, Detective Knight: Redemption promises to give fans a dignified send-off.
