 Warner Bros. shared a first look at Bong Joon Ho's upcoming “Mickey 17,” set to premiere on March 29, 2024. “Mickey 17” is currently in production and is directed, produced, and written by Bong, adapted from Edward Ashton. novel "Mickey 7".


Pattinson plays the titular Mickey, who is an Expendable: a disposable employee on a human expedition sent to colonize the frozen world of Niflheim. You'll have to wait a while to see the next project from Parasite director Bong Joon-ho. The sci-fi flick, dubbed Mickey 17, is set to hit theaters on March 29, 2024. The news was revealed through the briefest trailer, which shows star Robert Pattinson spinning around shirtless in some sort of tube.


The film is based on Edward Ashton's novel Mickey 7, which is about a "disposable employee" on a quest to colonize a new icy world for human habitation (it's not yet known where all the additional Mickeys come from). In addition to Pattinson, the film stars Steven Yeun (Nope, Okja), Naomi Ackie (The Rise of Skywalker), Toni Collette (Knives Out), and Mark Ruffalo (all with the Incredible Hulk). Outside of the cast, Joon-ho is also working with some notable names behind the camera, including production designer Fiona Crombie (Cruella), costume designer Catherine George (Okja, Snowpiercer) and Dan Glass, a visual effects supervisor. acquaintance. for his work on the Matrix movies.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar-nominated cinematographer Darius Khondji (“Okja”), Oscar-nominated production designer Fiona Crombie (“The Favourite”), Oscar-nominated editor Jin-mo Yang (“Parasite”), costume designer Catherine George (“Okja,” “Snowpiercer”) and film supervisor visual effects Dan Glass ("The Matrix" franchise). The music is by composer Jae-il Jung (“Parasite”, “Squid Game”).


The project was first announced in January 2022, ahead of the novel's February release via Macmillan's St. Martin imprint.


This upcoming feature marks Bong's second deal with WarnerMedia, following the announcement of an HBO limited series based on "Parasite" with Bong executive producing with Adam McKay.
