Rise of Empires: Ottoman 2022 Tv Series Season 2 Review Trailer Cast Crew

Netflix is taking new steps to expand its reach internationally. As part of this outreach, Netflix recently launched a Turkish historical docudrama series titled Rise of Empires: Ottoman. Its six-part first season, directed by Emre Şahin and written by Kelly McPherson, revolves around the young Ottoman Emperor Mehmed II and his quest to capture Constantinople, the coveted seat of the Byzantine or Eastern Roman Empire, in the year 1453. It is not just a battle between two empires, but a clash between Christianity and Islam whose outcome would mark the course of history for centuries. What makes the search for Mehmed II almost impossible is the fact that 23 armies before him, including one led by his own father, Murad II, failed in their attempt to capture Constantinople, commonly known as 'The Red Apple' for the Turks.

Netflix has revealed a new trailer for the second season of 'Rise of Empires: Ottoman', its landmark docu-drama series. 'Rise of Empires: Ottoman' Season 2 will be released on December 29, 2022 on Netflix, worldwide.

Stars: Cem Yigit Uzümoglu, Tuba Büyüküstün, Tommaso Basili

In Season 2, years after the conquest of Constantinople (Istanbul), Sultan Mehmed II consolidates his power, but a tyrannical ruler in Wallachia threatens to overthrow his empire. In this new season, Sultan II. Mehmed will face Vlad Dracula. The second season has been officially titled, Rise of Empires: Ottoman - Mehmed vs Vlad.

The trailer makes the documentary series more dramatic with the story and graphics, which include brutal and violent scenes.

The first season released in 2020 follows Sultan Mehmed II, who wages a campaign to take the Eastern Roman capital of Constantinople, resulting in the city's capture and the establishment of the Ottoman Empire. It focuses on how the Ottomans took over Constantinople, one of the most important cities in both the ancient and medieval worlds. It had previously been an unconquerable city, but the use of cannon during the siege heralded a new era in which city walls were no longer sufficient to secure cities.

One needs to watch and appreciate Rise of Empires: Ottomon to understand what is often missing from our own historical offerings. The moment you touch history, the greatest blasphemy you can commit is when you try to alter its actual course for dramatic purposes. While it's important to avoid playing with historical details, it's also essential that you present the characters objectively. That's what Rise of Empires: Ottoman does very well.

Now, Mehmed II is a legendary Turkish figure who conquered Constantinople at the age of 21 to end the glorious history of the Roman Empire. Mehmed II's exploits in Constantinople and all he accomplished during his 30-year reign (not to mention defeating the crusade led by John Hunyadi during his first reign as a child) changed the course of world history for the next 300 years. . And yet, the series does not portray him as a legendary figure. He is there practically in the flesh.

Furthermore, the characterizations of other important historical figures such as the Byzantine King Constantine XI, the Ottoman Grand Vizier Çandarlı Halil Pasha, and the Italian mercenary Giovanni Giustiniani, who fought for the Romans, are quite accurate. Even the details about the legendary Janissaries (elite slave corps of kidnapped Christian youths forcibly converted to Islam who formed the Ottoman Sultan's household troops) or the crazy Bashi-Bazouks are done. to the t-shirt It's something Bollywood can learn a lot from.

Rise of Empires: Ottoman should be commended for its strong focus on the different aspects of warfare, palace politics, religion, and intrigue. One gets to learn a lot about what it was like to fight a war that went on for several weeks in the 15th century. You also learn about the different strategies that the Ottomans and the Romans employed at different times. Historically, it used to be considered impossible to bring down the fort's falls using any form of artillery, including cannon fire. But Mehmed II was a game changer by employing cannons so heavy that they had the potential to bring down the walls of the fort. Everything about the war changed after Mehmed II's siege of Constantinople, as the kingdoms began to place more importance on the use of artillery rather than the earlier notion of simply strengthening the fort walls. The in-depth research and attention to period detail add immensely to the overall brilliance of the series.
