The Mother 2023 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

Jennifer Lopez has a unique parenting style in the first sneak peek for The Mother. López plays an assassin who comes out of hiding from her to protect a daughter she gave away years before in The Mother, also starring Joseph Fiennes, Lucy Paez, Omari Hardwick, Paul Raci and Gael García Bernal.

The sneak peek begins with Lopez's character living in a remote cabin and builds up to show off various locations the film will cover. The Mother comes from director Niki Caro, who most recently directed Disney's live-action Mulan remake. The film features a screenplay by Andrea Berloff, Peter Craig and Misha Green, based on a story by Green.

The Mother is scheduled for a May 2023 release, with the first trailer coming as part of Tudum, the online fan event produced by Netflix to promote its upcoming slate of movies and TV shows.

Principal photography on the powerful female-led action flick began in October 2021, but in January, filming had to be put on hold. Fortunately, the break didn't last too long as two months later, the team was back on set on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria. Filming wrapped soon after and The Mother quickly moved into post-production, slated for a May 2023 release, hopefully in time for the Mother's Day holiday. The Mother is a Netflix original movie and will only be available to watch on the streaming service, making it the perfect movie to watch during a night in with your own mom. You can use the link below to be directed to the movie's home page on Netflix once it's available on the streamer.

The trailer, released in September 2022 by Netflix's official YouTube page, gives viewers a glimpse of the exciting action to come. In the forty-five second long preview, a stone-faced, muscular Lopez can be seen doing pull-ups in the snow, looking through a rifle scope and fearlessly riding a motorcycle. After finally being reunited with her daughter, Lopez may never want to let her out of sight again, though the trailer alludes to her having to do just that. While the sneak peek gives us an idea of what the movie will be about, it also raises a lot of questions, including why Lopez's character left her daughter so many years ago, why she's being hunted by these assailants, how did they find out about her daughter? . , and who is the father of the daughter. These questions also lead us to believe that the movie will be more than just an action movie, but it will also have a complicated emotional side.

Jennifer Lopez will play the mother who fights to protect her daughter. Lopez is an absolute powerhouse of talent who began her acting career with a small role in the 1986 drama My Little Girl. She later joined the cast of In Living Color as her music career took off. In 1997, she took the lead role in the biographical drama Selena, which earned her recognition as both an actress and a vocalist at the same time.

The star appeared in "chick-flick" films like Maid in Manhattan, Monster In Law and Jersey Girl, as well as becoming a producer and slipping into more serious dramatic roles as she continued her prolific musical career. While Lopez may have started taking on roles in darker films, The Mother may be her most exciting and action-packed movie yet. As an ex-assassin who must protect her estranged daughter from the men hunting her, Lopez can be seen driving at high speeds, riding a motorcycle astride and brandishing a sniper rifle in what appears to be a thrilling and gripping action thriller. .

Joseph Fiennes is no stranger to action thrillers. Known for his role as the title character in 1998's Shakespeare in Love, Fiennes has most recently appeared as the recurring character Fred Waterford on The Handmaid's Tale, Monsignor Timothy Howard on American Horror Story, and Merlin on the fantasy series Camelot. In The Mother, it's still unknown if he's good or bad, though viewers can see in the trailer that his character is dealing with blindness in one eye and facial scars that indicate a possible accident or fire in his past. This leads us to believe that Lopez's character could potentially be responsible for these scars, hinting at her villainy and a possible reason for why she's after her.

Lucy Paez is the up-and-coming young actress who plays the titular mother's daughter. Páez's previous acting roles were in Spanish-language thrillers Silencio and El exorcismo de Carmen Fajas, as well as an uncredited role on the comedy series Barb and St.
