2026 is a monumental year for *Zillennials* everywhere—well, at least if you’re a Disney fan. If you haven’t realized it yet, it’s not just the anniversary of *Hannah Montana*, but also the anniversary of *High School Musical*! And all in the same year? Twenty years later, the nostalgia hits you like a brick the instant Miley Cyrus steps onto the scene with her blonde bangs and that shiny gold belt. Although Miley herself looks mature and elegant now, her Tennessee personality shines through instantly the moment she sets foot on the set—the very home of the Stewarts! But, almost immediately, you feel that something is missing.  That’s because most of the show’s main cast doesn’t appear in this anniversary special. Even so, I can’t complain, considering that Miley is the sole reason we had the opportunity to enjoy this special at all. Twenty years ago, when I was just a little girl myself, I had a poster of the pop star with the double life hanging on my pink and purple walls (quite...

Unlocked 2023 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom and Michael Douglas lead the all-star cast in 'Unlocked,' a London-set action thriller from former 007 director Michael Apted.

If "Unlocked" had been just an ordinary piece of direct-to-video action fodder, the kind of movie directed by an anonymous hacker and featuring a cast made up of one or two stars past their prime, a star or two not . particular distinction and a wrestler or a rapper, I could have felt a bit more lenient with that. Yet this is a film that packs a basic and promising concept, an undeniably talented director, and a cast full of enough familiar faces to fill at least one second-rate Steven Soderbergh joint, led by the enormously charismatic force of nature who It's Noomi Rapace. . And yet, despite all those advantages, the end result is a movie so decidedly bland and forgettable that the cast and crew probably spent more effort dragging themselves to the set every day than mounting all the chases and gunfights and whatever. .

Director: Tae-joon Kim
Writer: Akira Shiga
Stars: Si-wan Yim, Woo-hee Chun, Park Ho-San

Rapace plays Alice Racine, a brilliant CIA agent who hasn't worked in the field since failing to prevent a 2012 Paris terrorist attack. Currently in London as an undercover agent disguised as a social worker, Alice rejects the pleas of her former mentor (Michael Douglas) to return to the fold, but is soon forced back when the agency asks her for help with a major case involving a possible attack in London by an ISIS cell. A courier with key information has been captured en route to deliver a key message and you are asked to get it out. Getting the information is easy enough, but Alice soon begins to feel that the situation is not what it seems. In fact, her intuitions are correct and she manages to escape at the last moment along with the coveted information.

As she runs away and isn't sure who she can trust, Alice meets many people along the way who arouse her suspicions. In addition to her mentor, there is the head of the local CIA office, who professes to believe her story but nevertheless finds her behavior highly suspicious at best. There's her main contact at MI5 (Toni Collette), who may or may not know more than she's letting on. Most bizarrely, he meets a cat burglar when he catches him robbing a safe house where he intends to hide out and is revealed to possess the kind of advanced skill set not often seen in men who earn their living. life with televisions The only person she can really trust is Amjad, a local who has been feeding her information on suspicious neighbors and who seems to have what it takes for him to succeed as an agent.

What could have been a reasonably entertaining breeding ground turns out to be a surprisingly dull experience thanks to a deeply uninteresting script by Peter O'Brien, the kind of numbers-driven company that's constantly trying to pull the rug out from under everyone's feet. viewers, but never seems to realize that they've already figured out all the supposedly amazing twists and turns. Director Michael Apted has proven his talents in the past in films ranging from low-key diversions like "Coal Miner's Daughter" and "Gorky Park" to the landmark documentary series "Up," but he mostly fails to hit the film the kind of stylistic spark that have helped to transcend the mundane stuff. The only time he really comes to life is during the genuinely impressive piece that involves her escaping suspicious interrogation, a neat sequence that brings out the most elaborate action scenes.

Other than that, the best thing about the movie is Noomi Rapace, who obviously came to play and ends up showing more energy, focus, and charisma than generic procedures know how to handle. Her co-stars, on the other hand, are pretty cool here with wildly mixed results. Malkovich is in buff mode and manages to liven things up a bit during his brief appearances. Douglas, on the other hand, only plays the role of him, perhaps realizing that by the time his character is introduced, most viewers will be able to figure out what's wrong with him based solely on the fact that he was. chosen for the role. Collette is pretty wasted throughout, though she does have a moment to shine when she takes a machine gun on a few opponents with a degree of flair. As for Orlando Bloom, she's been tasked with a character who, as written, is almost impossible to play convincingly and never manages to seem anything other than wildly implausible.
