Children of the Corn 2020 Movie Review Trailer Cast Crew

Children of the Corn is a horror movie franchise that has been around since the 1980s. The original movie was based on a short story by Stephen King and spawned several sequels and adaptations over the years. In 2020, a new film in the series was released, titled simply "Children of the Corn".

This latest movie is a reboot of the original story, with a few updates and changes to bring it up to date for modern audiences. The basic premise remains the same: a couple driving through rural Nebraska stumbles upon a small town where all the adults have been murdered by a cult of children who worship a demonic entity known as "The One Who Walks Behind". the rows".

Director: Kurt Wimmer
Writer: Kurt Wimmer
Stars: Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey

The couple, played by Elena Kampouris and Callan Mulvey, find themselves trapped in the village and hunted by the children, led by a charismatic but sinister preacher named Isaac (played by Ian Porter). As they try to escape and uncover the truth behind the cult, they must confront the forces of evil at work in the city.

One of the main changes in this new version of Children of the Corn is the increased focus on the supernatural elements of the story. The original movie had some supernatural elements, but was mostly a straight up horror movie. In this version, the demonic presence of He Who Walks Behind the Rows is featured more prominently, with eerie visuals and haunting sound design to create a sense of dread and foreboding.

Another change is the depiction of the children themselves. In the original movie, the child actors were somewhat cheesy and over-the-top, but in this version, they're given more nuanced performances. Isaac, in particular, is a complex and fascinating character, both charismatic and terrifying.

The film also benefits from impressive cinematography, with sweeping shots of the rural landscape and eerie use of light and shadow. The score, by composer Daniel Davies, is also a highlight, with ominous, throbbing electronic music adding to the uneasy feeling.

Of course, as with any horror movie, there are some flaws. Some of the dialogue is a bit clunky, and some of the plot twists are a bit predictable. The film also doesn't live up to the classic status of the original Children of the Corn, which remains a cult favorite among horror fans.

However, for anyone looking for a solid, creepy horror movie with some interesting updates on a classic story, Children of the Corn (2020) is definitely worth a look. With strong performances, effective visuals and sound, and some truly haunting moments, it's a worthy addition to the franchise.
