What does love have to do with it? is a 2022 romantic comedy directed by Shekhar Kapur and starring Lily James, Emma Thompson, and Shazad Latif. The film follows the story of a young British-Indian woman named Simran (Lily James) who is torn between her traditional Indian upbringing and her modern Western ideals.


Simran is a successful investment banker living in London who is dedicated to her career and independence. She is not interested in marriage, but her traditional Indian parents are desperate to see her settle down and start a family. They arrange for her to meet her choice of a suitable husband, Raj (Shazad Latif), a successful businessman from a wealthy family.
