The Eyes of Ghana 2026 Movie Review Trailer

Two-time Oscar winner Ben Proudfoot turns his lens toward Chris Hesse, a 90-year-old man brimming with energy who filmed the most significant historical events in Ghana. Depending on whom you ask, Kwame Nkrumah is either a hero—tragically denied the chance to see his vision realized—or a narcissistic, would-be dictator. Director: Ben Proudfoot Stars: Edmund Addo, Anita Afonu, Chris Hesse As prime minister and, later, president of Ghana, Nkrumah oversaw the African nation’s peaceful separation from Great Britain and became a fervent advocate for Pan-Africanism. He championed the union of African nations into an entity he dreamed of calling the "United States of Africa," convinced that by uniting to control the continent’s natural resources, Africa could break free from colonial influence and emerge as a key player on the global stage. Yet, he also resorted to authoritarian tactics—such as declaring Ghana a one-party state with himself as president for life—which ultimately tr...

Adam Deacon publishes this work as a warning to his colleagues to let them know... I'M BACK!! “And I can still produce a high-quality production without your help” and we heard you loud and clearrrrrr…

I'm not sure if it's a sequel or a prequel, what we do know is that it's built in the same universe as Anuvahood... which we now call "HOODIVERSE". My copyright has already been registered! Riko and Kane have it all... big dreams, no respect, and fifteen grand in debt. Could things get worse? Yes. So, it's time to be men and finally be taken seriously as "Roadmen."

Director: Adam Deacon
Writers: Adam Deacon, Michael Vu, Jazzie Zonzolo
Stars: Adam Deacon, Jennifer Saunders, Danny Sapani

Once they think of several ways to make some money, they decide to rob a megastar in a nightclub bathroom and rob the local bank, but things inevitably don't go as planned. However, somehow a misunderstanding leads to them being desired and acquired to do business with one of East London's toughest firms, placing them in the line of fire of the firm's arch-rivals. Can Riko and Kane live up to their name? There are pranks, guns, explosions, marijuana, car chases, EVERYTHING!

Adam Deacon returns as director, writer, producer and actor playing Riko. It's hilarious. He is the "genius" of the couple, believe it or not. He's a smart role, as he plays real-life challenges and mental health and bipolar diagnoses. It's brave and brave to witness a man overcome these kinds of challenges and then base an entire comedy-drama production on it. His acting skills are still excellent, although exhausting in some scenes, but that doesn't make it any less good to see him back.

Another returning face is Jazzie Zonzolo, who plays Kane. He brings a very energetic charisma to his scenes that is reminiscent of his previous content and fits quite well here, so it's good to see. He's more the scared idiot of the couple. He is a decent performer overall. Arnold Jorge plays Dwayne, the sort of third wheel to our dynamic duo. He is a harried character all the time just trying to be heard. He is usually a powerhouse, but here he is much calmer, so he is a good example of his range.

The great Ed Sheeran is brilliant. He completely steals the show with his solo scene as a drug user with, of course, vocal talent. Good job. You have Charlie Sloth and Lethal B appear as themselves adding to the story and just being themselves so I don't know if you can call it acting lol. It's one of the fun scenes and a nice addition.

Megaman appears as a henchman, London Hughes as a bank employee, Jennifer Saunders as SWAT team captain, and one of the more random appearances is Jeremy Corbyn. Absolutely hilarious. Denise Van Outen, Tamzin Outhwaite, Eddie Kadie, Babatune Aleshe, to name a few more… the list is crazy and I appreciate it so much! Great cast.

It has a beautiful professional filter that gives it that elegant cinematic look that shows the high budget behind it. They weren't shy with the production. Great action shows are showcased and are on par with market trends. There's a fight scene in a club where we see Adam and Jazzie get their hands dirty, surprisingly very well. Another scene with a big car chase along with Hollywood blockbuster level explosions that, although it seemed out of place, was interesting to watch. The soundtrack is brilliant with urban classics from Skepta, Jammer, Ed Sheeran, Russ Millions and many more. It's a glorified collector's mixtape praising the UK scene.

I enjoyed the movie. It had a lot of funny moments and the characters were brilliant. Asian gangster Pinky was a highlight among many others. However, the format of the film was very confusing and messy.

The 2 hour duration was not justified. In fact, you could feel the scenes dragging on, which then affected the quality of the jokes, stretching them out, so the jokes were easily overlooked. The pacing is very upbeat and there is a lot to unpack. There were little plot points that worked and some that didn't, and in an attempt to come full circle to connect the dots in the climatic ending, it just didn't work.

My colleagues and I debated after trying to discover the target audience, which was not very clear. Being in my early 30s, every cameo was a hit for me and made me smile. For the apparently target 16+ audience, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but a lot of the guest appearances will go over your heads, for example Murkle Man...hopefully you'll be able to discover footage from the archives. The movie touches on important themes like brotherhood, friendship, family and everything.
