The Eyes of Ghana 2026 Movie Review Trailer

Image
Two-time Oscar winner Ben Proudfoot turns his lens toward Chris Hesse, a 90-year-old man brimming with energy who filmed the most significant historical events in Ghana. Depending on whom you ask, Kwame Nkrumah is either a hero—tragically denied the chance to see his vision realized—or a narcissistic, would-be dictator. Director: Ben Proudfoot Stars: Edmund Addo, Anita Afonu, Chris Hesse As prime minister and, later, president of Ghana, Nkrumah oversaw the African nation’s peaceful separation from Great Britain and became a fervent advocate for Pan-Africanism. He championed the union of African nations into an entity he dreamed of calling the "United States of Africa," convinced that by uniting to control the continent’s natural resources, Africa could break free from colonial influence and emerge as a key player on the global stage. The Devil on Trial 2023 Movie Review Trailer

Netflix released the trailer for its upcoming documentary series, “The Devil on Trial,” which is scheduled to premiere on October 17. Directed by Christopher Holt, the documentary delves into a chilling 1980s murder trial in America, where 'demon possession' was used as a defence, marking the first and last instance of such a case.

Using a combination of authentic home videos, dramatic reenactments, and interviews with key figures involved in the case, the documentary tells the heartbreaking story of 19-year-old Arne Cheyenne Johnson. He found himself on trial for the murder of his 40-year-old landlord, Alan Bono, claiming that he committed the act under the influence of demonic possession.

Director: Chris Holt
Writer: Chris Holt
Stars: Arne Cheyenne Johnson, Foster Hamilton, Susannah Spearin

The story takes place several months before the tragic murder, when Johnson's girlfriend's 11-year-old brother, David, exhibited eerie signs of demonic possession. This included speaking in Latin and being inexplicably thrown into the air, to the astonishment of Ed and Lorraine Warren, renowned demonologists and paranormal investigators. Tragically, it is believed that the malevolent entity eventually transferred possession to Johnson, ultimately leading to the murder that sparked one of the most infamous and sensational trials in history.
