This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. The Devil on Trial 2023 Movie Review Trailer

 Netflix released the trailer for its upcoming documentary series, “The Devil on Trial,” which is scheduled to premiere on October 17. Directed by Christopher Holt, the documentary delves into a chilling 1980s murder trial in America, where 'demon possession' was used as a defence, marking the first and last instance of such a case.


Using a combination of authentic home videos, dramatic reenactments, and interviews with key figures involved in the case, the documentary tells the heartbreaking story of 19-year-old Arne Cheyenne Johnson. He found himself on trial for the murder of his 40-year-old landlord, Alan Bono, claiming that he committed the act under the influence of demonic possession.

The story takes place several months before the tragic murder, when Johnson's girlfriend's 11-year-old brother, David, exhibited eerie signs of demonic possession. This included speaking in Latin and being inexplicably thrown into the air, to the astonishment of Ed and Lorraine Warren, renowned demonologists and paranormal investigators. Tragically, it is believed that the malevolent entity eventually transferred possession to Johnson, ultimately leading to the murder that sparked one of the most infamous and sensational trials in history.
