The Eyes of Ghana 2026 Movie Review Trailer

Image
Two-time Oscar winner Ben Proudfoot turns his lens toward Chris Hesse, a 90-year-old man brimming with energy who filmed the most significant historical events in Ghana. Depending on whom you ask, Kwame Nkrumah is either a hero—tragically denied the chance to see his vision realized—or a narcissistic, would-be dictator. Director: Ben Proudfoot Stars: Edmund Addo, Anita Afonu, Chris Hesse As prime minister and, later, president of Ghana, Nkrumah oversaw the African nation’s peaceful separation from Great Britain and became a fervent advocate for Pan-Africanism. He championed the union of African nations into an entity he dreamed of calling the "United States of Africa," convinced that by uniting to control the continent’s natural resources, Africa could break free from colonial influence and emerge as a key player on the global stage. Yet, he also resorted to authoritarian tactics—such as declaring Ghana a one-party state with himself as president for life—which ultimately tr...

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy 2024 Movie Review Trailer

In the animated sci-fi comedy “The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy,” created by Cirocco Dunlap, we follow the adventures of Dr. Sleech and Dr. Klak, two surgeons of intergalactic renown who happen to be aliens and best friends. The first season throws them into a whirlwind of strange medical cases, from anxiety-eating parasites to illegal time loops and deep-space STIs, all while navigating their own personal struggles.

What sets this series apart is its complete lack of human characters, plunging viewers directly into a strange world without familiar touchstones. Klak (voiced by Keke Palmer) and Sleech (voiced by Stephanie Hsu) tackle a variety of medical emergencies with creativity and humor, tackling each challenge with their underground cartoonist charm.

Creator: Cirocco Dunlap
Stars: Kieran Culkin, Stephanie Hsu, Natasha Lyonne

While the show offers plenty of laughs and creative medical scenarios, it also delves into deeper topics, particularly around mental health. Klak's struggles with anxiety and family expectations are juxtaposed with Sleech's single-minded focus on his career, leading to compelling character dynamics and emotional depth.

The series also weaves into a larger narrative arc involving a deadly parasite that feeds on anxiety, raising ethical questions about the search for a "cure." As Klak and Sleech navigate their professional and personal lives, they encounter a colorful cast of supporting characters, including the empathetic Plowp (voiced by Kieran Culkin) and the ambitious intern Vlam (voiced by Maya Rudolph).

Despite occasional criticism of its host platform, the show manages to deliver a satisfying blend of humor, creativity, and emotional resonance. With a second season already approved, “The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy” promises to further explore its richly imagined world and continue to deliver compelling stories that will resonate with fans of adult animation.

The *gayest* anime ever created has saddled up once again, returning with such overflowing authority—atop its steed, clad in haute couture, flashing a gold-toothed grin, and serving up the most gorgeous visuals ever committed to screen—that even the notion of a "return to form" feels astonishingly inadequate. Four years after its predecessor, *Stone Ocean*, closed the long and cyclical book on the original Joestar lineage on Netflix, Part 7 of the acclaimed *JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure*—titled *Steel Ball Run*—bursts forth as a new gospel for its legions of fervent emissaries; a soft reboot of the franchise that carries the DNA of its legendary legacy in its very bones, along with the confidence born of nearly twenty years spent being hailed as one of the greatest manga ever written. The initial hysteria surrounding its premiere—including the immediate convulsions across the internet when, just hours after its release, it dethroned *Frieren* from its comfortable, cushy perch on...
