All's Fair 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer

This review contains plot details from the first three episodes of “All’s Fair,” which are now available on Hulu. Creators: Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Ryan Murphy Stars: Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash The fact that a legal drama supposedly about female empowerment begins with a pilot episode written and directed by men probably tells you everything you need to know about “All’s Fair.” In fact, of the three episodes currently available on Hulu to commemorate the series premiere, only one features a significant creative credit from a woman, and it’s shared between executive producer Jamie Pachino and co-creator Ryan Murphy, who collaborated on the script for Episode 2.  But this is a review, so I’m obligated to elaborate: “All’s Fair” is a clumsy, condescending take on superficial, triumphalist feminism, undercooked even by the standards of the overworked Murphy, who co-created the series with Joe Baken and Jon Robin Baitz. Admittedly, the tone is intentionally campy, and i...

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live 2024 Tv Series Review Trailer

“The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” premiering on AMC on February 25, is a highly anticipated return for fans of the series, bringing back two beloved characters in a sequel series that promises to delve deeper into their history. However, in a universe already packed with content, the prospect of another installment, even one focused on the franchise's iconic couple, risks disappointing audiences.

The departure of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in season 9 marked a significant change for the series, as the main protagonist seemingly sacrificed himself to save the community from him, only to be taken to the Civic Republic by his ally. , Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh).

Creators: Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira
Stars: Danai Gurira, Terry O'Quinn, Lesley-Ann Brandt

His absence left a void, but rumors of his final departure were dispelled with the announcement of a series of films that will continue his story. However, delays and setbacks kept these projects in development limbo, leaving fans to ponder Rick's fate.

In “The Ones Who Live,” Rick's return finds him navigating life in the Civic Republic, constantly striving to reunite with his family while he faces obstacles from CRM soldiers. Meanwhile, Michonne (Danai Gurira) embarks on her own journey, searching for Rick and meeting allies and adversaries along the way. The series introduces new characters and expands on the enigmatic CRM, but struggles to offer new world-building or compelling villains.

Lincoln's portrayal of Rick is initially subdued, reflecting the character's experiences in the Civic Republic, but gradually regains a familiar intensity. Gurira seamlessly returns to the role of Michonne, anchoring her story with depth and emotion. The supporting cast adds richness to the narrative, with standout performances from Craig Tate and Lesley-Ann Brandt as Rick's allies, and Matthew Jeffers as Michonne's sidekick.

Despite the good performances, the series suffers from pacing problems and a mediocre plot in its first episodes. However, as the central conflicts develop, momentum builds, offering hope for a more engaging narrative in later episodes. For devoted fans invested in Rick and Michonne's story, the series may provide the closure they seek, but for others, it may seem like an unnecessary continuation of a franchise that is past its prime.
