Dave Attell is a renowned American comedian, actor and producer. He was born on January 18, 1965 in Queens, New York. Attell has entertained audiences for over three decades with his unique brand of humor that often involves dark and controversial topics.


Growing up in a working-class family in New York, Attell developed an early interest in comedy. He participated in several talent shows during his school days and also began performing in local clubs while studying at New York University. After graduating, he began pursuing comedy full-time and got his first big acting break on the cult favorite sketch show "The Jon Stewart Show" in 1993.


Attell's career gained momentum when he appeared on the popular late-night show "Late Night with David Letterman" in 1995. His one-liners and sharp observations caught the attention of viewers and he soon became a regular guest on the show. In 1999, he landed his own show titled "The Ugly American" on Comedy Central, which showcased his edgy style of comedy that revolved around sex, drugs, alcohol and other taboo topics.


With the success of "The Ugly American," Attell became a household name and created another hit show called "Insomniac with Dave Attell." The show featured him traveling to different cities in the United States, where he would explore the local nightlife and interact with people from all walks of life. The show ran for four seasons and earned him critical praise for his crude but hilarious commentary.


In addition to his television work, Attell has released several comedy albums, including Skanks for the Memories (2003), Captain Miserable (2007), Road Work (2014), Bumping Mics with Jeff Ross: Live (2018), among others. He also lent his voice to animated shows such as “Crank Yankers” and “F Is for Family,” and appeared in numerous films such as “Pootie Tang,” “Trainwreck,” and “Funny People.”


Attell's style of comedy is often described as raunchy, unfiltered and politically incorrect. He fearlessly tackles controversial topics and turns them into jokes that leave audiences in suspense. This has earned him a dedicated fan base that appreciates his boldness and ingenuity.
