Iron Reign 2024 Tv Series Review Trailer

Simply put, compared to the usual low quality and terrible acting and scripts of Spanish thrillers, it is probably the best series in recent years.

The show has a high budget. Landscapes, the port, the boats, resources. All of this contributes to solid staging and a professional appearance.

Creators: Lluís Quílez
Star: Eduard Fernández, Chino Darín, Jaime Lorente

The action scenes are well done, especially compared to other Spanish productions. Still pretty amateurish, but I think not because of the way they filmed it and the actors and extras did it; It's a planning problem: the writers and directors have no idea how weapons work, how people behave in close-range combat, etc.

Eduard Fernández is an extraordinary actor and he achieved it. His performance is pretty much the best on the show and he single-handedly saves the entire show. He is brave, dark, complex. And, in general, the actor is very natural: the way he talks, the way he moves, he is very believable in the role of the port boss.

We cannot say the same about the rest of the parts. And it is a common problem in Spanish series that are not comedy: from simple bad acting to overacting, people who do not speak as they speak in Spain, expelling poor or ridiculous dialogue from their mouths.

Another problem is the lack of attention to detail. It is not the fault of the actors or the production, but of the writers. It's like that scene that starts with a freighter sailing and a title that says “Pacific Ocean.” Suddenly, a speedboat with Somali pirates or similar appears out of nowhere. In the Pacific Ocean.

Quite a leap for Somali pirates. The subsequent action on the attacked ship could have been really good, since they had the resources to do it. What they lack is attention to detail, knowledge of what is necessary to give it a bit of credibility, and the classic overconfidence of writers in their own knowledge.

The lack of professionalism in the description of police work, how drug dealers and hitmen work, how weapons should be used, and even the incorrect geography takes the shine off what could have been a great show.

The show is riddled with all of these things; Added to the bad acting (apart from the extraordinary work of Eduard Fernández and some small roles) and some very poor dialogue, it makes watching it a bit boring and difficult to suspend disbelief.
