Netflix is ready to deliver its 'must see romantic comedy of the year' starring Kim Soo-hyun, Queen of Tears. The streaming platform, which recently made headlines for showcasing the serene South Korean countryside in Welcome to Samdal-ri, has once again spread its K-drama magic and how.
Written by Crash Landing on You writer Park Ji-eun, Queen of Tears is a Korean romantic drama that will delve into the complicated life of a married couple struggling to stay together against all odds.
Star: Kim Soo-hyun, Kim Ji-won, Na Young-hee
The Netflix K-drama features famous Korean actors Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won as the main leads. While the former is known for iconic K-dramas like It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020) and My Love From the Star (2013), Kim Ji-won is known for her impressive performances in critically acclaimed shows like My Liberation Notes (2022) and Arthdal Chronicles (2019).
Other notable cast members include Na Young-hee as Kim Seon-hwa, Kim Joo-ryoung as secretary Kim Jung-nan, Kim Gab-soo as Hong Man-dae, Lee Joo-bin as Cheon Da-hye, Lee Mi -sook as Mo Seul-hee, Jung Jin-young as Hong Beom-jun, Yoon Bo-mi as Secretary Na, and Jung Ji-hwan as Baek Hyun's secretary.
Hong Hae-in (Ji-won), the heiress to the Queens Group business empire, is married to Baek Hyun-woo (Soo-hyun), a senior official in the group. The life of this influential couple is turned upside down when a crisis hits their peaceful marriage.
There will be a total of 16 episodes, each lasting 70 minutes. New episodes will be released on Saturdays and Sundays.
K-drama Queen of Tears will be released at 9:20 p.m. KST (5:50 PM IST) on March 9, 2024.
