Prime Video has acquired the family drama series “The Baxters” from LightWorkers Media, a company focused on faith and family values, co-founded by Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. This acquisition is part of Amazon MGM Studios, following Amazon's purchase of LightWorkers' parent company, MGM.
Based on the best-selling book series by Karen Kingsbury, the 10-episode series is executive produced by Roma Downey, who also stars as Elizabeth Baxter, the family matriarch, alongside Ted McGinley as John Baxter. The series, which will stream exclusively on Prime Video in spring 2024, was filmed in 2018 and was initially intended for the LightWorkers Media platform. Will Packer serves as additional executive producer.
