American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer
Kate Hudson stars in a new comedy on Netflix, and the Oscars air Sunday night.
The series is inspired by the life of Jeanie Buss, the real-life owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, and delves into themes such as family dynamics, personal growth and the challenges of leading a professional sports team. Hudson's character deals with complex relationships, athlete egos and her past, all while striving to return the team to its former glory.
Mindy Kaling, known for her work on The Sex Lives of College Girls, is the creator and executive producer of the series. In developing Running Point, Kaling sought to combine elements of humor and drama, drawing inspiration from the real-life dynamics of the Buss family. Her goal was to create a narrative that would resonate with audiences familiar with projects like Succession and Ted Lasso.
While medical dramas never went out of style, they’re back in full force this season, including the new series “Berlin ER,” a German-language show that follows Dr. Parker (Haley Louise Jones) as she begins working in an extremely chaotic and understaffed emergency room in, as you might have guessed from the title, Berlin. Her task is to bring her team together to work as best they can in a broken system. The series has an eight-episode arc, with a new one coming out every week.
There seems to be no rest for Mindy Kaling, who is back in action just a month after the end of the third season of her series “The Sex Lives of College Girls.” This time, she is co-creator, along with Elaine Ko and Ike Barinholtz, of “Running Point,” a comedy that follows Isla Gordon (Kate Hudson), a former party girl who has to take on the role of manager of the L.A. Waves, a fictional professional basketball team owned by her family. The cast also includes Brenda Song, Justin Theroux, and Max Greenfield.
One could argue that what's even more impressive than the contestants winning this competition show is that "Survivor" has successfully aired 47 seasons since 2000, and is now about to begin its 48th. Since 2016, the show has been filmed in the Mamanuca Islands, Fiji, and there eighteen contestants will be divided into three tribes: Civa, Lagi, and Vula. And who knows, after this, they might end up on a season of "Traitors" like Boston Rob or Carolyn Wiger did.
As quickly as the rise of influencers on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram came, so did the controversial subgenre of mommy vloggers: content creators who prominently feature their children — though, technically, children cannot consent to being filmed or earn income — despite being the driving force behind viewers’ clicks. One of the darkest examples of this is Ruby Franke, who ran a YouTube channel called 8 Passengers, documenting her life in Utah with her husband and six children, posting five times a week to 2.5 million subscribers. In 2023, Franke and her friend Jodi Hilderbrand were charged with aggravated child abuse; last year, they both pleaded guilty to four charges and were sentenced to between four and 30 years in prison. The new documentary series “Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke” takes a closer look at the family’s rise to popularity and the horrors that were happening behind the scenes.
After a very long and tumultuous awards season (postponements due to the Los Angeles fires, plus the “Emilia Perez” drama), things are finally coming to a close with the 97th Academy Awards. Taking place live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Conan O’Brien will host alongside Selena Gomez, Oprah Winfrey, Ben Stiller and many others. “Emilia Perez” has the most nominations, 13, including best picture. “The Brutalist” and “Wicked” each have 10. Kyle Buchanan, in his New York Times column, pointed out an interesting statistic: For the first time since 1978, all of the best actress nominees are appearing in films nominated for best picture, indicating a strong field of nominees.
