Happy Face 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer

Image
In the previous episode of Happy Face, Melissa finally found the murder weapon used to kill Heather. Before that, she learned that it was her father who leaked the news of her abortion, so she went to see him in prison. She was fed up with Keith's psychopathic tendencies and no longer wanted to waste time trying to figure out his motives and intentions. Melissa and Ivy breathed a sigh of relief after finding the murder weapon, believing they could soon close the case and prove Elijah's innocence. But they had no idea it wouldn't be an easy road. Melissa returned home after finding the wrench and felt strangely unsafe, something she'd never experienced before. She felt like she'd missed out on so much, completely unaware of what was going on in her children's lives. She noticed her daughter had new sneakers; she was talking to a boy Melissa had never heard of. Additionally, Melissa found the pizza cutter she and Ben had been trying to find in their son's bag...

The Twister: Caught in the Storm 2025 Movie Review Trailer

Image
On the night of Sunday, May 22, 2011, a devastating EF5 tornado ripped through the city of Joplin, destroying everything in its path. As a result, 161 lives were lost, buildings were leveled, and the entire city was left a sobering pile of rubble. Netflix offers a wealth of intense documentaries on its platform, but perhaps none are as thrilling and impactful as "The Tornado: Caught in the Storm." With surprisingly good tension building to the devastation, along with an emotional conclusion that analyzes the aftermath of the disaster, this is a substantial documentary. And despite being less than 90 minutes long, this documentary is powerful. Director: Alexandra Lacey Writer: Alexandra Lacey The Joplin Tornado is told through raw, firsthand accounts from the people who lived through it. Specifically, a group of teenagers who managed to survive winds of over 200 mph and lived to tell the tale. It's an interesting narrative decision that generally works very well, although...

Adolescence 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

Image
Philip Barantini directs the four-part series about a teenager accused of murder, in which each episode unfolds in a single, continuous take. The ultimate sign of television’s arrival as a cinematic art form may be the medium’s growing obsession with the oner, the uninterrupted single-take technique that has long been part of the visual language of big-screen auteurs. Stars: Ashley Walters, Owen Cooper, Stephen Graham A six-minute sequence shot was, along with the presence of Matthew McConaughey, the prestige calling card of the first season of True Detective. Shows with such a different reception as The Bear and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story have generated their most buzz from entire episodes presented in one continuous take. Jeon Woo-Sung’s wild Korean thriller Bargain raised the bar even higher by telling its story in six episodes, each shot at least resembling an oner. In the second episode of Apple’s upcoming Hollywood satire The Studio, aptly titled “The Oner,” ...

Novocaine 2025 Movie Review Trailer

Image
Now that John Wick is perhaps gone for good (at least if Keanu Reeves has anything to say about it), we’re in the era of unexpected action stars. We’ve seen Bob Odenkirk and Ke Huy Quan take their affable, run-of-the-mill personas and become action powerhouses (in 2021’s Nobody and this year’s Love Hurts, respectively). While we still have the traditional action stars of today (hello, Jason Statham!), there’s a new area of opportunity to exploit. Welcome to the club, Novocaine. Jack Quaid, fresh off another genre-blending film (the sci-fi/horror film Companion), brings his boy-next-door charm to the role of Nathan Caine, an anxious assistant manager at a bank who seems to live a rather dull and monotonous life. We first see him sadly going about his morning routine as R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts” plays, effectively setting the tone for Nate’s current emotional state. Nate has a neurological disorder that prevents him from feeling any kind of pain, or things like heat or cold. It s...

The Last Supper 2025 Movie Review Trailer

Image
It’s one of the oldest stories ever told, but “The Chosen” is finding success with a very fresh approach to bringing the episodic biblical epic to audiences. Originally available to stream on a dedicated app, “The Chosen” chose to release its third and fourth seasons in theaters through Fathom Entertainment — an unprecedented decision for a full season of television, in the case of Season 4. But the unconventional strategy paid off handsomely, with Fathom grossing $72 million to date through “The Chosen’s” two seasons, plus a Christmas feature. Now preparing to release the show’s fifth season, “The Chosen: Last Supper,” starting March 27, the specialty distributor is pulling out all the stops. It’s also a final rodeo for Fathom. The fifth season will be the last to be distributed by the company, as producers 5&2 Studios and global distributor Lionsgate recently made a deal for U.S. rights with Amazon to stream the final two installments as feature films. Amazon MGM will handle...

Image
Vertical has acquired The World Will Tremble, a historical drama about the escape from a Nazi concentration camp, for worldwide distribution. Tremble is the second feature film from Israeli-American writer-director Lior Geller, whose 2008 short film Roads holds the Guinness World Record for the most awards won by a student short film. The film is scheduled for release on March 14. Of the more than 320,000 Jews sent to Chelmno, only four are known to have survived. Snow White 2025 Movie Review Trailer

Image
Disney has released the first full trailer for Snow White, the live-action remake of the 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It's one of the most outrageously awful trailers I've ever seen. From the nightmarish special-effects dwarves to the oversaturated visual effects to the bizarre casting choices, Snow White combines everything wrong with modern cinema into one hideous monstrosity, a film that may go down in history as the straw that broke the Mouse's back, once and for all. That would be nice. If Disney loses hundreds of millions on Snow White, maybe they'll stop churning out this low-effort trash. Maybe they'll do some soul-searching. Right now, the formula at Disney seems to be pretty simple: Director: Marc Webb Writers: Erin Cressida Wilson, Dorothy Ann Blank, Richard Creedon Stars: Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Swift Take a beloved classic animated film and turn it into a live-action version with tons of special effects. Replacing the...

Daredevil: Born Again 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer

Image
The first episode of Daredevil: Born Again begins with Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page leaving their office (this was teased at the end of Daredevil season 3) and heading to Josie's bar for a drink and to say goodbye to Cherry, a retiring NYPD cop. While Cherry laments that the police are becoming obsolete due to the rise of vigilantes like Daredevil and White Tiger, Foggy has a relaxed chat with an assistant district attorney, Kirsten McDuffie, about why he's working in a shop with his friends instead of at an actual company.  The conversation between Foggy and McDuffie revolves around a thief named Benny who has apparently been accused of stealing some bottles of Lafite Rothschild from Red Hook, a bonded warehouse - i.e. a storage facility where imported goods can be kept without paying taxes. Creators: Matt Corman, Chris Ord Stars: Charlie Cox, Margarita Levieva, Wilson Bethel Foggy believes that Benny will be acquitted, but McDuffie disagrees with him. The seem...

The Senior 2025 Movie Review Trailer

Image
Every good sports movie needs an underdog that audiences can root for. The new film from director Rod Lurie (The Last Castle, The Outpost) has a real-life character who would have seemed too impossible to believe if a screenwriter had made him up. That's Mike Flynt, who at the age of 59 returned to play for his college alma mater after 37 years, becoming one of the oldest men to ever play the sport. Superbly played by Michael Chiklis, he's the real-life hero of The Senior, which recently received its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival. When its inevitable theatrical release comes, this blockbuster should be a potent box-office draw, especially in non-urban areas. Lines are probably already forming at Texas theaters. Director: Rod Lurie Writer: Robert Eisele Stars: Mary Stuart Masterson, Michael Chiklis, Brandon Flynn The story begins in 1970, when Flynt was a star linebacker at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. Unfortunately, he also had...

Beauty in Black 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer Poster

Image
Okay, so I'm fairly new to the Tyler Perry universe. Since he's been doing these straight-to-streaming projects, it seems like he has no plans to take a break, and it shows. There's nothing worse than seeing women abused on screen, and this guy repeatedly feeds us this same trauma in different formulas and expects us to swallow it like marshmallows. Honestly, if you can't tell, I'm tired. We want stories about Black people and people of color, yes, but when those stories are poorly written, I can't pretend to like them. This is stereotypical garbage, and I'm really sick of it. Beauty in Black tells the story of two strong women: one is Kimmie, a stripper who is trying to get out of her miserable life after her mother kicked her out as a young woman, and the other is Mallory, a former orphan, now rich and famous, who runs her own company. While the two women are completely different from each other, they share one common thread: a pair of really rich and pow...

The Leopard 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer

Image
Netflix went all out to unveil its highly anticipated miniseries “The Leopard,” based on Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s classic novel set in Sicily, marking the platform’s biggest splash in Italy yet. On Tuesday, Netflix held a packed press conference in the frescoed ballroom of Rome’s centrally located Plaza Hotel, which was also used to film one of the series’ key scenes. “The Leopard” will formally premiere in Rome on March 3 with a gala screening held at the Eternal City’s Opera House before its global release on March 5. Creator: Richard Warlow Stars: Francesco Colella, Astrid Meloni, Mario Patanè The lavish historical tapestry, with elements comparable to “Downton Abbey” or “The Crown” and the potential to leave a global mark, is a modern take on the sensual Sicilian saga adapted for film by Luchino Visconti, starring Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon and Burt Lancaster. The film, now a classic of Italian cinema, won the 1963 Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Eleonora And...

Celtics City 2025 Tv Series Review Trailer

Image
The talents and accomplishments of the current Celtics make inevitable comparisons to their legendary forebears on the Garden hardwood. The past is ever-present with the Celtics. Those 18 championship pennants flying in the rafters of TD Garden provide heights worthy of constant aspiration. But their shadow can be long. The talents and accomplishments of the current Celtics — who, of course, clinched that 18th pennant last June — make inevitable comparisons to their legendary forebears on the Garden hardwood. Those comparisons aren’t always easy to handle. When Jayson Tatum recently cited Larry Bird as the greatest Celtic — a title Tatum said he aspires to snatch — a common local response was, “Why didn’t he say Bill Russell?” The same goes for arguably the greatest dynasty in American professional sports. A magnificent current Celtic can mention his admiration for a legendary Celtic and sports icon, and we wonder if he is the right legendary Celtic and sports icon. I mention this...
